M3 Lab’s Recent Work on the Development of a Novel Fabrication Strategy to Promote the Electroactive Phase of PVDF has been Published in RSC Advances

Congratulation to Jamie Lee, Dr. Yanting Guo, Dr. Richard Lee, and Prof. Sunny Leung for the publication of their recent work entitled, “Fabrication of Electroactive Poly(vinylidene fluoride) through Non-isothermal Crystallization and Supercritical CO2 Processing” to be published in RSC Advances. This work reports the development of a novel processing strategy using a combination of non-isothermal crystallization and supercritical carbon dioxide (ScCO2) processing to promote the electroactive crystal phase content of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF). This work offers a new industrially viable methodology to tailor PVDF’s crystalline structures. This represents a useful technique to fabricate piezoelectric PVDF film for sensors, actuators, and energy harvesting applications.
