Prof. Leung has been invited to give a talk at the 25th Annual International Conference on Composites/Nano Engineering during July 16-22, 2017 in Rome, Italy. His Ph.D. student, Mohammadmehdi Aghelinejad, will accompany him in the conference to disseminate a new fabrication technique to produce thermoelectric CNT/polymer nanocomposite foams using open cellular foam templates. This represent an industrially viable processing technology that allows the promotion of electrical conductivity of polymer nanocomposites without increasing their thermal conductivity. Such accomplishment represents a key breakthrough to the development of polymeric thermoelectric materials as alternatives to their semi-conducting counterparts.
